IPPA Awards May 8th, 2009
In March 2009, I won two honorable mentions for photos at the annual Illinois Press Photographers Association’s Pictures Of The Year contest. My Pioneer Press colleagues Suzanne Tennant, Rob Hart and Ruthie Hauge also won awards in various categories.

Hi Tamara,
I get to be the first to comment which is an honor plus I beat you know whom. As I mentioned in my email, you inspire me - to either throw my camera away or give it to someone deserving. The amazing photos were expected. The flair for writing was a surprise. I still cannot conceptualize the Hancock photo which is probably why I should only have a disposable camera.
